Dr. Felmly's Care Team Care team for Dr. Felmly, Orthopaedic Spine surgeon, is currently searching for a medical assistant who has the desire to work in a fast paced medical environment. Clinical duties include, but are not limited to, assisting patients to and from the waiting room, preparing patients for examination and assisting during the examination, collecting laboratory specimens, removing sutures and staples, preparing  injections, changing dressings, sterilizing medical equipment, scheduling surgery, hospital admissions and diagnostic studies, instructing patients about medications, telephoning prescriptions to the pharmacy as directed by the doctor and explaining treatment procedures to the patient. Administrative duties include, but are not limited to, front desk reception, answering and responding to all phone calls, scheduling and confirming all appointments, filling out all paperwork and assisting patients with paperwork, handling correspondence from other physicians offices, patients, insurance companies and attorneys; filing all medical records electronically, reviewing charts and insurance information in advance of patient appointments to ensure eligibility, processing insurance billing and providing proper coding as well as collecting co-pays, coinsurance, deductibles and balances on patient’s accounts.  
Applicants must be flexible and willing to work long hours when necessary, able to multi-task, able to relate to patients and staff in a positive manner and be an aggressive learner. Strong billing and coding background and prior front desk experience is preferred.

MRI and Radiology Technologist positions available for part time and full time.  Responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. The technologist will provide diagnostic exams for interpretation by the ordering physicians and will provide services as professionally, efficiently, and as accurately as possible while maintaining the dignity, safety, and quality care of the patient.  Position requires a team player that is self motivated and willing to assume an assertive role on a regular basis.  All applicants must be certified by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) and by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registered in MRI.

Orthopaedic Technologist Responsible for providing casts, slings, bracing and other assistive and mobilization devices for a wide variety of orthopaedic patients, ranging from the simple to the complex.  Position requires collaborating with orthopaedic surgeons and their staff, patient education regarding the wear and care of orthotic devices and maintaining a clean and orderly patient care environment.
High school diploma and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in orthopaedics as an orthopaedic technologist or casting technician is required.  Certification by National Board for Certification of Orthopaedic Technologists (OTC) or Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) desired.
